This is a VERY good spirit to stop people who take advantage of yu. There's something with her energy that makes them back off. And trust me she's watching at all times! Emma tells me when she was in fifth grade, she barely spoke due to her shyness. Her classmates laughed at her quiet voice, the way she wore hand-me-down clothes, and the notebooks she filled with doodles instead of designer stickers. Every day, someone had something cruel to say! Emma tried not to cry in front of them. At lunch she sat under the big oak tree behind the school, drawing in her sketchbook which she felt was a safe space. She drew cities with tall buildings, people in suits, and little girls standing on stages, speaking to crowds who actually listened. She carried this sadness for year, many. Years passed. Emma grew older, but the hurt of being bullied stayed. She worked harder than anyone else. She got a scholarship to college, studied architecture, and designed her first community center at twenty-five — a place built for kids who needed somewhere safe to go. When her business finally opened the tables had turned. Many had heard about it from her town and several who bullied her were at the opening. She stood proud she tells me.
