Odina was a Navajo medicine woman or haatali. Odina helped her tribe by performing ceremonies that would target wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. Odina also helped the women of the tribe during their pregnancies. Odina never had children of her own and felt called to make sure the women of her tribe had healthy babies. As a young girl, she watched her older sister die during childbirth and she wanted to help prevent that from happening again if she could. Odina's tribe was eventually moved to a reservation and the government didn't allow her to perform her duties. Odina fought against this mandate and killed while performing an illegal ceremony. Odina has the most soothing and caring presence. When she is around, stress disappears, and the whole mood of the room changes. Odina just makes you feel calm and helps even out your emotions.
